Richard & Jessica Constantine

Jessica & Richard got married on the 13th of April in the Oakland, CA Temple. It was a bit chaotic getting there and getting IN the Temple. I was super organized and had my Temple recommend all laid out and ready days before we left and knew I wouldn't forget it. On the way to the airport I realized that sure enough I DID have my recommend, but that it was expired! There was nothing that I could do because I was already running late to the airport, so off we went anyways and just prayed that I could get in that next day.
To make a long story short, after nearly an hour of waiting (...and delaying the sealing by half an hour) and being told that there was nothing they could do and no way I was going to be able to get in to my sister's sealing, they kept trying things and asking people and miracle of miracles they let me go in....BUT first I had to do phone interviews with my Bishop and one of the counselors in the stake presidency. Thankfully we were able to get a hold of them, and thankfully the people at the Temple were kind enough to agree to letting me in. I heard from nearly 10 temple workers that they had NEVER seen that done before- if it's expired they don't make any exceptions. Thankfully they did! Even though I wish I had been more on top of things and have had made sure my recommend wasn't expired, it turned out to be a really spiritual experience...especially being in that sealing room with Jessica & Richard.
While the sealer was talking I felt the spirit really strongly and it hit me that being married in the Temple is the ONLY WAY, and it's the RIGHT way. I've known that my whole life, but there was something different about the message that just hit me like a ton of bricks. There are plenty of other ways to get married but getting married in God's Temple is THE ONLY RIGHT way. I'm so grateful for the blessings we receive because of the covenants we make there.

They had a really pretty reception in Vacaville, CA (where he is from), and then a few days later we had one in Klamath Falls also. Both were a lot of fun and turned out gorgeous. We ended up doing half inside and half outside for the KF reception. We had dessert buffets at both, and boy howdy was the food DIVINE. I'm having a hard time getting Logan (and myself) to eat real food because we lived off of these desserts for days.

I had to throw some pictures of my boys in because...well...they are just too stinkin' cute. My friend Whitney got Shaffer these shoes and I'm pretty much obsessed with them. I used to think boys weren't fun to dress....what was I thinking?
