Pregnancy Ramblings....

Here we are 39 1/2 weeks and goin' strong....kind of! I had my doctors apt. on Tuesday to determine if I could be induced or not. Last week I was 50% effaced, 1 cm dilated and unfortunately I didn't change one stinkin' bit! I of course got my hopes up and was dreaming about holding my baby within a few days of my apt. but alas it is still a waiting game. I tried to play it off all cool while my doctor was still in the room but as soon as she left I couldn't not cry. How were all you mothers so patient during the last week? What did you do to preoccupy your minds and make the time pass by quicker?

In efforts to make the babe come early Josh and I tried going to Nike and playing basketball. We thought that perhaps all the shooting would summon him here but that did no good. Perhaps we'll have to get serious about it and play a full court game? That might work me up enough to induce some labor action.

I am sure you have already tried this, but I seriously went full on running when I wanted Brock to come. It always gave me contractions.

Oh and P.S. I totally did the same thing when my doctor told me they wouldn't induce me. I cried to Tyler as soon as she was out the door.

Oh sweety I feel your pain. I think the only thing that kept my mind preoccupied was the fact that I had two other kids to chase after.Call if you need anything.

Well, to take you mind off of the babe DELETE your counter now! Nobody wants to see it pass up the 40 week delivery mark! And, enjoy all the sleep you can get. Go on lots of lunch dates with friends- that's how I passed the time!

Hey we're here for you! If you ever get bored during the day I'm always up for walking or spicy food! Take care he'll be here soon!

You may think all of us formerly pregnant moms looked patient the last week or two, but we were just as eager as you were! Find a good book to get your mind off of the excitement, go on some strenuous walks, and have your husband massage your feet/legs (there's some pressure points there that make contractions)

I know I was really mad when I found out it's not nine months, forty weeks is ten months! I was ticked, hang in there! He'll be worth the wait I'm sure :)

I don't think that theres anything you can do to fully keep your mind off the lil guy. Actually in my
39th week I was able to get induced, they scheduled me for a thursday morning one, I was supposed to be there at 7:00 am. At 6:30 they called and told me they were too full and they couldn't take me. and that they would call around noon. well they never called so at one I called. They told me to come on down. I got there checked in downstairs went upstairs and they told me they were still to full. They sent me home!!!!! And I had to wait til that following sunday! I just bawled for hours. talk about way disappointing! This might be wierd for me to be writing you, but I've heard having an orgasm can sometimes bring on contractions.

i never had to experience that because i was induced at 37 weeks because i had pre-clampsia. but i feel for you, i don't know what i would have done, its just a waiting game now. people told me that spicy food is a good bet. try going for long, long, walks i've heard that works too. good luck though. don't worry he will come out eventually, he has to. you have just made it super comfy for him in there.

Go get a pedicure! You deserve it and who doesn't want cute toes while they are sitting up in the stirrups for all to see?! I am sure you have nested away, but you can always make sure all the baby clothes are washed, rearrange his clothes, make something for the baby's room (picture frame, wooden letters of his name, etc), get a good book, rent some great movies, cook some freezable meals for after baby comes, wash all your sheets, reclean your house (sweeping always gave me contractions), make some premade scrapbook pages for your baby, start working on your baby book (go buy one if you don't have one already), look up mommy classes in your area for future reference, go buy a cute outfit a size bigger than your regular size so you have something cute that you'll fit into right after, go find some cute slippers or new bathrobe to wear at the hospital, repack your hospital bag... I think those are all the things I did. Good luck! I love the name Logan too! We only know a couple of them around here.
