Logan turns 1!

It feels like just yesterday I was doing this....

And now my little newborn baby is a little boy.

They said it would go fast.
Did I believe them?
No!
How about now?
(Sniff sniff)- It goes by even faster than they said it would.

There is a newer primary song that is called "Sacred Families". Part of the chorus says:
"God gave us families to help us become what He wants us to be. This is how he shares His love for the family is of God."
I can't even begin to thank God enough for the blessing of families...ie: (because today's his birthday) for Logan! This has been one of the hardest years of my life, but by FAR the most rewarding and joyous. I can't imagine living a life without children.
I went to Fred Meyer today to pick up some groceries. One of the clerks came over to talk to us because Logan was giving his typical adorable nose crinkle grin. She was very pleasant and gave Logan lots of compliments. Then she hit me with this comment, "I got rid of my husband. Now I don't have to share the hugs. I get all the hugs to myself." She went on for a minute with that kind of talk. All I could think was how sad her comment was. I didn't say anything. I still can't think of what exactly I wish I could have said....other than "I don't mind sharing my hugs! He's well worth it. Plus, I don't think I'd get any more hugs with him not around."
I know that those words from a simple primary song are true. I have never felt closer or felt God's love more than I have in my family. I know that this is how He shares His love. I know that families are of God.
I am so thankful for my sweet Logan. He is such a fun baby. He is cheerful 100% (-14) of the time, has the best smiles, gives the best hugs, makes us laugh, gives me purpose, and just makes life so much better. I love my little boy. I can't thank heaven enough for him.
"Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift" (2 Cor. 9:15).

(I'll post the festivities soon...)

Happy birthday to Logan! :) As cheesy as this sounds, I had to write in my little journal last night of how grateful I am for Logan- as I thought back on this last year, I noticed just how much joy and happiness he has brought into all of our lives. It's incredible to me how someone so small can win your affections and change your life in so many small and simple ways... What a blessing! Love you Jen.

Isn't it wonderful to know and understand some of the blessings our Heavenly Father has for us? I often think of my joy then realize that this is only a small amount of the joy Heavenly Father has for me and for His children.
Thanks for you post, Logan truly is blessed to have the most loving, wonderful mother in the entire world!
Happy Birthday sweet boy!

Happy Birthday Logan! I am SOO behind on blogging because I don't have internet, still. I'm about to change that because I can't stand it anymore. Congratulations!! Shaffer is beautiful! Give me a call when you get time (and energy), I'd love to hear more on how you're doing. You look GREAT even in the pictures where Shaffer is a couple of weeks old! I need the secret. :)

Jena, I still think that Olivia is my little baby and she is three. I think I will always feel that way about her even when she is 20. They do grow up so fast, Sophie is six months and I just had her! You are such a good mom and your boys are so cute. I love you posts and how honest you are. Looks like Logan had a great birthday in you new post of pictures from his birthday, and I love his cake. Supper cute.
